Programs & Services
The City of Bellevue's new South Bellevue Community Center, in partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue, is designed to be 'a partnership for a healthy community' and a place where you can make improvements to how you live your life. With an over-arching theme of health and wellness, SBCC's comprehensive programs include group fitness classes, solo cardio/strength workouts, and drop-in sports and recreational activities for all ages.  Take advantage of opportunities to train one-on-one with fitness staff, schedule a personal fitness assessment and register for a variety of wellness programs including classes and workshops on nutrition, weight loss and stress management.  Check out our social and recreational classes, programs and special events for older adults and pre-school ages.  Sign your school-age child up for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue after-school program, Project Learn, or have your teen drop in at the teen late-night program, Latitude Lounge.

Senior Programs
Community center offers recreation programs including seminars, craft classes, community services projects and drop-in activities. Lunch is served at noon and senior bus passes are available.

Fitness Room
The Fitness Room at South Bellevue Community Center is available for drop-in use. A variety of pass options gives you access to this 2,500 square foot center equipped with state-of-the-art treadmills, bikes, elliptical trainers, weight training machines and free weights.  A double gymnasium is available for a variety of activities including drop-in basketball, walking, volleyball, pickle ball and badminton.  The Fitness Room is designed for adult use, as well as teens, ages 13+.

Climbing Wall - "The Crag"
Come and climb the walls! The Crag is 33 feet tall and sculpted to look and feel like Index Granite. The wall offers three top-rope climbing routes with varying degrees of difficulty and a bouldering wall for your enjoyment. SBCC offers a full array of classes, workshops and supervised climbing sessions for all ages and skill levels.  The wall is also available for birthday parties and private rentals.

Bellevue Challenge Course
Challenge Course Mission: To provide an environment where different learning styles are incorporated through experiential learning and adventure education.

Challenge Courses offer a series of activities designed to improve the performance and cohesiveness of your group. It is a combination of teamwork, communication and individual problem solving. Participants always have a choice of the level of challenge they wish to accept.

Rental Information
The South Bellevue Community Center is available for community/private rentals.  The Center features a 2,400 square foot community room, with floor to ceiling windows, that is perfect for weddings, receptions, receptions, banquets, parties, meetings, workshops and other special events.  Other rooms available for rental include a catering kitchen, classrooms and a double gymnasium.  The community room can be reserved for weekdays and evenings, as well as weekends.  The gymnasium is available on weekdays during non-peak times.

Location & Directions
The SBCC is located at Eastgate Park, a 25-acre park transferred to the City of Bellevue by King County in January 2003.  Eastgate Park is located on SE Newport Way  across from the Newport Library.

Driving Directions:

  • From I-90 East, take exit 11 towards Spokane; turn right on 150th Avenue SE; turn right onto SE Newport Way; and the Park is on your left side (south).
  • From I-90 West, take I-90 to exit 11and merge left onto 150th Avenue SE; turn right at SE Newport Way; the Park is on your left side (south).
